The Port Orford field trip is not to be missed!
We will stay in a beautiful home, walking distance from the ocean and Garrison lake, with a cozy woodstove in case the weather is dreary.
We will learn about the nutritive powers of seaweed from the delightful Katie Baker.
We will harvest our own sea salt.
We will get to know skunk cabbage, bayberry, beach yarrow, California pitcher plant, willow and many more.
We will make an herbal tincture.
We will have a chef prepared meal on Saturday with locally sourced ingredients including Port Orford Sustainable Seafood. This dinner is optional and an additional cost. The menu will be released a week or so before the event.
Because this is the only trip where we will be renting a house, (all other trips will be day trips or camping) there will be an additional requested contribution of $10-50 per night for lodging, depending on which sleeping set up you choose. Options are listed when you register. Lodging contributions will be collected at the time of the trip.
Scholarships:
I am committed to making this work accessible to people who are serious about participating but are limited financially. The number of scholarships available depends on how many other registered participants are paying in full. To apply for a scholarship for this or any class, please answer the questions in this form. We will respond within several days to let you know of availability of funds at that time.
